Alternative therapies for bacterial vaginosis can be found which are cheap to implement and not difficult at all.  BV is a bacterial infection that can affect woman at any time.  The healthy vaginal bacteria becomes overwhelmed by unhealthy bacterium and the environment becomes volatile.  Healthy bacteria can become replaced  easily and there can be various causes.

Sometimes, this condition can be caused by women who have multiple sex partners or have a new partner their life. It can also appear in virgins and sexually inactive women.  Overwashing and using perfumed products is thought to sometimes be the blame, as is having poor nutrition.  Most times, there is no particular explanation. It is also prevalent in many women who are pregnant.

Although Bacterial vaginosis is not a life-threatening infection, it can cause many symptoms that can infringe on a woman’s life if left untreated.  In addition, it can complicate pregnancies for many women. There are antibiotics to successfully treat the infection which attack the unhealthy bacterium. However, many of these antibiotics will attack and kill off the healthy bacterium as well as they are unable to distinguish between the various strains.  Because of this, many women do not wish to use antibiotics to treat the infection; there are alternative therapies for bacterial vaginosis treatment that are proven effective.

Women who have developed the infection can experience many symptoms many often experience burning sensations, odor and pain in the vaginal area.  Often, they will also experience severe itching and vaginal discharge.  These symptoms will only worsen if the infection is not properly treated.  In addition, without proper treatment, a woman can become more susceptible to other sexually transmitted diseases including HIV.  Treatment must begin and continually treated until there is no evidence of contaminated bacterial.

Alternative Therapies For Bacterial Vaginosis

Some of alternative treatments that are more natural and are proven effective.  They may seem odd, but have been known to cure the infection.  Plain yogurt, folic acid and probiotics are cures for the bacterial vaginosis.  The yogurt is a highly combative way if treating the smell that is accompanied by the infection.  By carefully inserting the yogurt into the vagina with a tampon, the smell will shortly dissipate, as the healthy bacteria begins to reproduce.  Repeating this method twice a day for five to ten days will eliminate the smell and odor.  In addition to inserting the yogurt in your vagina, consumption of yogurt is also a healing agent in bacterial vaginosis.

Follow directions when using folic acid and probiotics to further relieve symptoms that are associated with the infection.  Tea tree oil is also known to combat the contaminated bacteria as well.  A healthy diet can also help to remedy the disease.  By eating fruits, vegetables and a well balanced diet, the immune system is increased and often therapeutic.  Drinking two liters of water every day and avoiding sugars, alcohol and meals with additives and unhealthy fats are also alternative therapies for bacterial vaginosis and are proactive ways of avoiding BV and combating the disease.

Smoking is also believed to complicate the disease and women are encouraged to stop smoking to allow for successful healing. Another natural alternative way to prevent the infection is by abstaining from sex, and/or multiple partners or, at the very least, using condoms until the condition subsides.
